Select
SEARCH Mode
- Click the SEARCH link in the banner of any getCITED screen.
This takes you to your
default search screen
- Use the pull-down menu of the SELECT SEARCH MODE field (top right
corner) to select one of the five search modes.
- Click the arrow to go to the selected mode.
- If you want to make your selection the default search mode, click the
checked button.
You can also select a default search mode by clicking the USER INFO
link at the bottom of any getCITED screen. This takes you to the
Edit User Information screen.
Go to the SEARCH MODE
field and select a default search mode from the pull-down menu.

View SEARCH
Results
A search may yield numerous results. You can set the maximum number of results
that appear on screen by clicking the USER INFO link at the bottom of any
getCITED screen. This takes you to the
Edit User Information screen.
Go to the SEARCH LINES field and select a number
from the pull-down menu.
To view publication details of a result, click the title link.
To view the details of more than one result:
- Click the check box to the left of each title you want to view.
- Click the SHOW SELECTIONS box (bottom of screen) to open
all your selections.
- Selections appear one per screen. Click the PREVIOUS RECORD or
NEXT RECORD links to go to your other selections.

Add BOOKSTACKS
- Click the ADD CONTENT link from the banner of any getCITED
screen. This takes you to the
Add to the getCITED database screen.
- Select BOOKSTACK/BIBLIOGRAPHY from the pulldown menu and click the
PUBLICATIONS button. This takes you to the
Add New Bookstack
screen.
- Enter the appropriate data into the fields.
- Click the CONTRIBUTORS box at the bottom of the screen. This takes
you to a screen where you can enter contributor names. Or, click the FINISHED
box. This takes you to the new bookstack's publication record.

View BOOKSTACKS
From a publication record, click SHOW BOOKSTACK (located just below the
STATISTICS box). This takes you to your current bookstack.
There is also a SHOW BOOKSTACK link on the publication search screen.

Edit BOOKSTACKS
To add publications to a bookstack:
- Go to a publication that you want to add to a bookstack, and click
ADD TO BOOKSTACK (located just below the STATISTICS
box).
- Click SHOW BOOKSTACK (located just below the STATISTICS
box) to confirm the publication was added to the bookstack.
To remove items from a bookstack:
- From a publication record, click SHOW BOOKSTACK. This takes you to
your current bookstack.
- Click the check box beside each publication you want to remove.
- Click the REMOVE SELECTED ITEMS FROM BOOKSTACK button at the bottom
of the bookstack screen.
- To clear out your bookstack completely, click CLEAR BOOKSTACK at the
bottom of the bookstack screen.

Change BOOKSTACKS
To change to a bookstack other than your personal bookstack:
- From your bookstack screen, click the CHANGE BOOKSTACK link
(just below the bookstack title). Or, click the CURRENT BOOKSTACK
link above the STATISTICS box on any publication record.
This takes you to the Change Bookstack screen.
- Search for an existing bookstack by contributor, title or subject.
- From the list of results, click the SELECT button beside the
bookstack you want to change to.
To change back to your personal bookstack, click the PERSONAL BOOKSTACK
link in the Change Bookstacks screen. This takes you to your personal bookstack.
