Links help/glossary/Links UPDATED: 03/02/05 01:39 LINKS are the life blood of getCITED. The more LINKS, the more useful getCITED becomes. getCITED is unique in its capacity to link people and academic research. We built many linking possibilities into the site to increase the chance that members can find what they want, and find it more quickly.  Here are some of the many linking possibilities available:
As you can see, the site provides potential to build a very rich network of academic research. It is important to differentiate between adding content and creating LINKS. You may, for example, be a graduate student who wants to add a reference to your dissertation to the database. Once you add the dissertation, you then have to link it to your getCITED IDENTITY, otherwise the dissertation will not be "credited" to you, i.e. it will not appear in your getCITED CV. You can also help out your colleagues by creating their LINKS for them. The AUDIT TRAIL lets them know that it was you who did them the favour.
